New assembly plant puts Mono on the map in China

Mono has become the first major European manufacturer of progressing cavity pumps and macerating equipment to establish an assembly and stock-holding plant in Shanghai, China.

The new facility has been created in response to customer demands for a locally based assembly, service and support capability, and marks a significant step forward in the Mono ongoing programme to expand its presence in this important market.

Based in a 6,000 sq mtr complex belonging to the Mono parent company, National Oilwell, the new centre is staffed by fully trained and experienced Mono personnel.

It now enables Mono to undertake assembly and service activities locally, and will allow customers to benefit from significantly reduced lead times, enhanced aftermarket services and improved spares supply.

It will initially focus on supporting customers in the water and wastewater sectors, although plans are in hand to expand the facility and extend the scope of its services into other important industrial sectors including chemicals, plus pulp and paper.

With the arrival of over USD100k of stock now in place the new facility is already accepting pump and spares orders in either the local Chinese currency (RMB) or in dollars to meet the local market requirements.

Mono has also emphasised its commitment to the Shanghai region with the appointment of William Tan as Regional Manager, Environmental Industry.

William brings considerable industry experience to his new role and is now working with customers in this sector to provide enhanced levels of service.
