Mono builds complete solution at Broadmoor

Mono has designed and installed a new packaged pumping station in Broadmoor, Wales, for Welsh Water who required a complete package to handle the sewage from a new caravan park.
The park needed a new pumping station to accommodate the fifty caravans on site and due to its situation in a public area, low noise emission as well as operating performance was a key factor.
Mono was able to offer a complete solution tailored specifically to accommodate the Welsh Water requirements.
The two CE072 short Flexishaft E Range pumps and two horizontally mounted SB Munchers were installed in a duty/standby arrangement in a special acoustic GRP kiosk to keep noise levels to a minimum.
In order to meet local planning consent and blend in with the surrounding area, the pumping station is constructed using panels complete with brickwork facia representing local stonework and meeting with building regulation requirements.
The Mono Projects Team designed, supplied and installed the packaged pumping station, taking all the responsibility away from the site owner and giving the customer just one company to liaise with.
The positive displacement action of the Mono pump lifts the sewage and wastewater from the sump into the Muncher for macerating the solids within the flow.
The sewage can then easily be pumped at a capacity of 36m3/h into the main sewage system for further treatment.
By finely macerating the sewage before pumping, pipework and pump blockages are eliminated and the customer benefits from small bore pumping.
Rising main costs are reduced and the rising main can be installed by mole plough or slit trench methods saving considerable costs against traditional open trench excavations.
The industrial E Range progressing cavity pump incorporates the Flexishaft drive system.
This provides a single component link between the rotary motion of the drive shaft and the eccentric motion of the helical rotor.
As there are no moving parts in the Flexishaft drive train, wear is eliminated and maintenance costs usually associated with other forms of rotor/coupling rod joints are significantly reduced.
The Flexishaft also has a 5 year warranty.
A key benefit of a Mono Packaged Pumping Station is the advantage over high speed centrifugal pumps.
The industrial E Range pump runs at low speeds.
This combined with correct pump pressure selection leads to low wear rates, minimal spares usage, lower running costs, less downtime and hence Least Whole Life Costs.
The SB Muncher is a more compact Muncher and is ideal for smaller capacity flows.
The low cutting tip speeds can reduce your maintenance costs and offer lower vibration and noise levels.
Designed to replace high speed macerators, the SB Muncher can save up to 85% of the energy requirements of a centrifugal force system and is backed up by a full 3 year warranty.
This combination of a Mono Pump and Muncher gives you a highly efficient packaged pumping system.
All equipment is surface mounted and installed in a clean dry environment, making access for maintenance more user friendly than submersible pumps, with no lifting of equipment out of dirty sumps.
