New Mono coating provides answer to rotor abrasion
Mono Pumps, a leading manufacturer of pumps and pumping solutions, has launched Duracoat 3000 - a new surface coating offering increased wear resistance for rotors used in highly abrasive environments
In addition to individual products, Mono will be promoting its packaged solutions for wastewater applications at the show, which incorporate progressing cavity pumps, Munchers and Discreens that are specially designed to work together to maximise efficiency and performance.
For example, Munchers, which provide a reliable method of macerating solids into a small and consistent particle size, can be combined with a Mono pump to create a complete packaged solution, which simultaneously macerates and pumps a product, smoothly and efficiently.
Nichola Vasconcellos, marketing manager at Mono, commented: "A key part of the European Water Framework Directive looks at how water used for domestic, commercial and industrial purposes is treated and returned to the water courses.
As such, upgrading the effectiveness of treatment processes has been a priority in the current 5 year spending round".
It is likely that this theme will continue in the forthcoming AMP (Asset Management Plan) 5 round, which starts in 2010 and, it is anticipated, this will focus on improving the lifetime cost-effectiveness of the treatment processes.
"To help wastewater treatment works make these improvements, we have developed ranges of pumps, Munchers, screens and packaged solutions that have been specifically designed to ensure these facilities can operate more effectively and efficiently".
The Mono wastewater customer portfolio includes all the UK water plcs, which the company supports through framework agreements, together with civil contractors, consultants and local government.
Mono is a part of National Oilwell Varco (NOV) and will exhibit at IWEX (at the NEC, 20-22 May 2008) in association with British Water.
