Moore Industries new HIM smart HART Loop Interface and Monitor module unlocks the full potential of new and in-place "legacy" Smart HART transmitters, with no additional process penetrations or wiring.

The new HIM Smart HART Loop Interface and Monitor allows up to three additional analogue process measurements from smart HART multivariable mass flow, level, pressure and pH transmitters.

For a multivariable mass flow transmitter, this may include pressure, differential pressure, process temperature, flow rate, flow total and sensor temperature.

The HIM is part of the same product family that was installed at a DuPont TiO2 processing plant, and instrumental in helping this facility to obtain HART Plant of the Year Award 2002.

Using the HART digital data that "rides" on the 4-20mA current loop, the HIM "breaks out" up to three 4-20mA signals representing any combination of a smart multivariable transmitter primary, second, third, or fourth measurement variables so they can be used by analogue control systems, such as a DCS or PLC.

Dual alarm trip outputs can be individually configured to warn of high/low process conditions.

They can also be set to alert the user if the monitored device and/or HART monitor itself is in a fault condition.

This includes use of the HART protocol status bits to indicate a smart transmitter cold start; field device malfunction; or that the primary variable analogue output is fixed, saturated, or out of limits.

The HART Interface and Monitor sets up quickly and easily using Moore Industries single window configuration software equipped with HelpMap, a comprehensive, searchable web-based help system that smoothly guides the user from hook-up to start-up.

The compact, DIN-rail mount module installs on a rail in the control room, or in rugged field conditions in the Moore Industries metal R-BOX field-mount enclosure.
