The new two-wire, loop-powered Smart HART temperature and signal transmitters from Moore Industries have input-to-output analogue accuracy of +/-0.014C, the absolute best in the industry

The THZ2 and TDZ2 family of two-wire, loop-powered Smart HART Temperature and Signal Transmitters from Moore Industries-International have input-to-output analogue accuracy up to +/-0.014C (+/-0.025F), the absolute best in the industry The 4-20mA temperature output signal also has a superimposed HART digital signal, which allows any HART-compatible control device to programme the zero, span, sensor trim offset and other calibration variables, and to interrogate and read multiple real-time process variables

Up to 15 transmitters can be linked via a single twisted pair wire.

The THZ2 and TDZ2 can be field-configured to accept 14 RTD types, nine thermocouple types, current and voltage signals, resistance and potentiometer devices, and direct millivolt sources, thus minimising the need to stock spares.

The transmitters can be interrogated and configured with a HART Communicator, HART-based control system, or a PC, laptop or tablet PC equipped with software from Moore Industries.

Each transmitter comes with free PC configuration software and a cable.

Both the THZ2 models (blind devices) and TDZ2 (with displays) have 20-bit input resolution for exceptional digital accuracy of +/-0.1C (+/-0.18F) with all Pt RTDs, or up to +/-0.05C (+/-0.09F) for Pt1000 RTDs.

THZ2 models are available in encapsulated "hockey-puck" housings, field-mounted enclosures and DIN-rail field mount housings.

TDZ2 models are available in a "hockey-puck" housing or a field-mount housing, with digital displays.

Options include RTD and thermocouple sensors, thermowells, connection heads and fittings.

All models work in temperatures from -40 to 85C (-40 to 185F) and relative humidity of 0-95% RH, and have RFI/EMI immunity, common mode noise rejection, a digital input filter, burnout protection and output current limiting.

Field-mount models have Factory Mutual (FM), ATEX, cFMus (US/Canada), IECEx, CSA, CENELEC/ATEX 94/9/EC Directive and TestSafe (Australia) approvals for intrinsically-safe, non-incendive, explosion-proof and flame-proof operations in Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D.

They also have NEMA 4X and IP66 ratings, and are CE conformant.
