Hawke International is delighted to announce the successful registration by the Fieldbus Foundation of the Hawke RM100 Series intrinsically-safe fieldbus power supply system.

The RM100 Series is a unique fieldbus power supply in that it is the only system to make 350mA available and be IS for IIC, as well as having built-in redundancy.

Comparable FISCO solutions only allow 115mA and cannot offer redundancy or high MTTF.

Now fully registered by the Fieldbus Foundation, users can be completely confident that their FF systems can be powered without interference, crosstalk and with high reliability, whether IS or non-IS.

Furthermore, Hawke is the only fieldbus connection solutions provider with a full range of general purpose, intrinsically safe, non-incendive and flameproof FF packages, all manufactured in-house and ready fitted with spur short circuit protection, segment termination and high-quality (Hawke) cable glands for whatever cable you need.

The Fieldbus Foundation is the organization responsible for the technology and performance of FF equipment and systems.

One of the key issues for end users is that any equipment from alternative suppliers is 'interoperable' and 'interchangeable' - whatever FF equipment they buy or install, it has to work effectively and seamlessly with their other FF equipment and services.

FF Product Registration is that process by which manufacturers validate their equipment to a FF specification and test procedure, and once successfully completed and reviewed by the FF Technical Section, a Product Registration certificate is awarded.

The technical specification for fieldbus power supplies (FF831-1) has only recently been released; prior to this specification, there was no registration route for FF power supplies, which was a significant gap since all other FF devices are subject to FF registration.
