Hawke Fieldbus are offering a FREE TrunkGuard unit for ProfibusPA/Foundation Fieldbus applications to all qualified respondents during November and December 2004.

TrunkGuard is an electronic fieldbus device coupler which provides auto-resetting spur short-circuit protection and automatic segment termination for 4, 8 or 10 spurs in any ProfibusPA or Foundation Fieldbus application.

The unit on offer here is the TG208-DIN, handling up to 8-spurs and suitable for both general purpose and Zone2 applications - carries SIRA EExnA[nL] II T5 ATEX approval, with FM Non-Incendive Division 2 about to be confirmed.

For the purposes of this promotion, it is supplied ready for internal use on a DIN rail.

Normally, Hawke provide the complete device coupler package of IP67 field enclosures in GRP or stainless steel, plus ready-fitted cable glands for plain, armoured or offshore specification cable.

Conditions? You are going to be implementing at least one fieldbus (ProfibusPA or Foundation Fieldbus) segment, and so you will need a fieldbus-conditioned power supply, since regular bulk 24Vdc power supplies do not work in fieldbus segments.

The deal for the FREE TG208-DIN is that you also buy one of the Hawke fieldbus-conditioned power supply units, the FPS200 Series, released earlier this year.

The FPS200 gives every segment 350mA of fieldbus conditioned power, DC/DC isolation, is formally FF-approved and comes in simplex or duplex (redundant) configurations.
