Emphasis on Ireland for automation specialist

Modular Automation International of Birmingham is further expanding its Irish operations, after many successful projects supplying assembly automation equipment to the manufacturing industry there

After many years of supplying assembly automation equipment to manufacturing industry in Ireland, Modular Automation International of Birmingham is expanding its Irish operations recognising the huge long-term opportunities that exist across the Irish Sea.

The company will be focussing its sales activity more actively at Ireland bringing its unique brand of engineering excellence to an even wider network of customers engaged in high tech manufacturing in the IT, electronic, pharmaceutical and medical sectors, as well as more traditional core markets of automotive, electrical and plastic fabrication.

Modular Automation International specialises in designing and building automatic assembly systems for use throughout industry.

The systems help modern manufacturers compete with production from abroad and achieve the quality and consistency requirements necessary especially for the validated processes employed in the pharmaceutical market.

All the company's systems are designed, built, commissioned and maintained in-house ensuring that production, quality, consistency and cost requirements are met.

For many years high technology manufacturers have embraced Ireland, encouraged by the country's low taxation and highly skilled workforce.

A corporate tax rate of only 12.5%, one of the lowest in Europe, is an attractive prospect for manufacturers when compared to rates in the UK of 30% and, for example, 35% in Spain.

Ireland also has the youngest population in Europe with over 40% under the age of 25 and the trend is expected to continue for at least the next 15 years.

Modular Automation International sales manager Mark Hendry is optimistic about the company future in Ireland: "Many of the major players in Ireland are involved in high volume production, and that's what we do best.

We have lots of experience in the medical sector and that's one of the main industries here.

It's a huge market for us and we'll be working hard to do even better in the future.".
