Spyraflo bearings aids 'menu driven' signage
When McDonald's wanted to roll over their signs after breakfast, the sign manufacturers called on our Spyraflo colleagues in America to help provide a quality, durable solution
They offer a wide variety of design and replacement options, and are the perfect alternative for the more expensive, cast iron mounted ball bearings that may be considered 'overkill' in many applications.
The bearings from Spyraflo provide a number of important benefits, including non-corrosive housings, superior appearance and +/- 5deg static self-alignment capability, which solves many problems associated with bearing misalignment.
The pillow block and housing flange line comes with various bearing options, including SAE 840 bronze, unique Teflon-bronze and needle roller bearings.
A significant benefit of the SAE 840 bronze version is its ability to maintain superior integrity of the oil lubricant during manufacture, thereby significantly enhancing bearing performance.
This is a major advantage over the main competition, whose manufacturing process results in 30% loss of oil and significant carburisation of the remaining oil leading to a major reduction in performance and life.
These useful bearings are available in sizes from 6mm to 30mm diameters and because the housings are manufactured in sintered aluminium they ensure a high degree of consistent dimensional accuracy.
With multiple bearing choices, being lightweight, corrosion resistant, and easy to install, these self-aligning bearings offer a simple solution to often more expensive mounting problems.
