World-leaders in weighing technology, Mettler Toledo, of Leicestershire, UK, have supplied a range of static checkweighing solutions to the leading crab, lobster, prawn and shellfish specialists, The Cromer Crab Company Disappointed by the poor reliability provided by their previous weighing solutions and the high costs of repair, Cromer Crab initially approached Mettler Toledo in December 2003 for a solution that would not only stand up to the daily production line rigours of a major shellfish producer, but would prove impermeable to water ingress, in a traditionally wet production environment

Impressed by the on-going reliability of the Mettler Toledo equipment, Cromer Crab then subsequently ordered a further seven 3kg 'wash down' static checkweighers in December 2004.
Having experienced greatly reduced downtimes by eliminating breakdowns this also minimised expenditure on scale repairs, so Cromer Crab ordered a further six scales which were delivered in the first quarter of 2006.
