Hygienic weighing technology for food

When food ingredient manufacturer Jardox expanded production, it called on Mettler Toledo to provide the precision weighing technology used to measure ingredients prior to shipping

Certified for high purity applications in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, Mettler Toledo stainless steel PBA430 and PBA430x weighing platforms are suitable for HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) areas and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance.
Manufactured according to the recognised guidelines of the EHEDG (European Hygienic Equipment Design Group), they are ideal for use in critical areas where foods such as meat, fish, fruit and vegetables are processed, as well as in bakeries.

Weighing technology increases process efficiency

Ingress protected to IP69K so they can be cleaned with steam or high pressure jets, the platforms have hermetically sealed stainless steel weighing cells protected against immersion to IP68.
With Ex-protected terminals (ID3sTx or ID7sx) the PBA430x platforms can also be used in Category 2 hazardous areas.
An optional high-alloy stainless steel (1.4571/AISI 316 TI) load plate fulfils all requirements for corrosion resistance.
Available in seven weighing capacities (up to 3600kg) and five sizes (from 240x300mm to 600x800mm), the PBA430 and PBA430x platforms have an accuracy certification of OIML Class III with 1 x 3000e.
They also feature plug and weigh connectability to all ID terminals via an optional IDNet digital interface.
Like their weighing platforms, the Mettler Toledo 4 Series weighing panels are optimised for the food industry.
GMP, NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) and EHEDG compliant, they are also ingress protected to IP69K to allow high pressure spray cleaning.
With ergonomically designed displays and keypads, the stainless steel panels have hygienic, smooth surfaces with no 'hidden corners' to shelter bacteria.
Backlit, LCD displays provide clear, easy to read results.
In addition to mains connection, the terminals can also be supplied with an optional built-in battery, allowing full portability.
Fully protected against damage or loss, the battery provides between 9 and 90 hours of use and has a charge indicator to inform the user when it needs recharging.
The 4 Series terminals are compatible with the entire range of Mettler Toledo weighing platforms.
Accessories include a GA46 printer, which connects to the terminal via an RS232 interface.
The printer has a stainless steel housing, and an IP65-protected version with a cover and take-up device is also available.
