MiMiC for Unicracker low sulphur diesel
project
Flint Hills Resources will be using the MiMiC Process Simulation Software and Emerson DeltaV Simulate for the operator training platform for the Unicracker on their ultra low sulphur diesel project
Mynah Technologies announces that Flint Hills Resources, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, will be using the Mynah Technologies MiMiC Process Simulation Software and the Emerson DeltaV Simulate for the operator training platform for the Unicracker unit, part of the their ultra low sulphur diesel project "Operator training and effectiveness are key factors that will affect the success of this project", said John Cornelisen, controls/digital/analytical systems lead for Flint Hills Resources

MiMiC Process Simulation Software for training
Motiva in Louisiana implements Mynah Technologies MiMiC simulation software for multiple refinery operator training systems, to save time and money
"The MiMiC/DeltaV Simulate solution presented us with the best combination of performance and value available.
Our operations staff has been impressed with the accuracy of the MiMiC simulation as well as the ease-of-use and flexibility".
This Hydrocracker refinery unit is a greenfield project using UOP Unicracker-licensed technology.
The process simulation and operator training system is being implemented by a team that includes technical resources from Emerson Process Management, Flint Hills Resources, the Emerson Local Business Partner, Novaspect, and Mynah Technologies.
"We are excited about our partnership with Flint Hills Resources, and the opportunity to reduce their start-up time while increasing the operator effectiveness on the Unicracker or future projects" said Martin Berutti, Director, Business Development at Mynah Technologies.
Refineries are choosing MiMiC because it saves money, trains operators better, and allows off-line testing.
MiMiC is easy to use and flexible; users can quickly build realistic models of their processes.
Users of MiMiC Simulation Software have consistently achieved significant reductions in start-up times and improvements in product quality, resulting in saving as much as USD$100-500k per day through faster time to market and eliminating off-spec product.
The Emerson DeltaV Simulate system will provide emulation of the new unit control system environment while the MiMiC Process Simulation Software provides non-intrusive, dynamic models of the process units and IO signals.
The MiMiC Operator Training Module will also be used to provide structured operator training sessions with pre-scripted process scenarios and events.
When used with Emerson DeltaV SimulatePro, it will also provide quick and complete freeze, save, and restore of control system and process snapshots.
