Water permeable and impermeable (barrier) membranes are important for the building materials, packaging, clothing and food industries: a Humidity Club seminar on 10 June 2004 will focus on this

The 'Water Vapour Transmission' Humidity Club Seminar and Equipment Exhibition will be held on 10 June 2004 at NPL Water permeable and impermeable (barrier) membranes are important for the building materials, packaging, clothing and food industries

This Humidity Club seminar will be focussing on these industries plus occupational skin monitoring, and examining various measurement issues.

How to measure or model water vapour flux at surfaces.

Moisture profile and flux determination within membranes and in bulk materials.

Use of humidity and temperature measurement and control in membrane permeation applications.

There will be a chaired discussion/workshop component of the meeting and an equipment exhibition.

Speakers from Versaperm, Systech, Glasgow Caledonian University, Enviroderm, NPL and others will present their latest results on water movement.

The Humidity Club is a National Measurement Club for all instrument manufacturers, suppliers, calibration authorities, research establishments and end users, who have an interest in humidity measurement.

The group meets twice a year to hear progress reports on NPL humidity projects, and to discuss how the UK National Measurement System can best meet UK industry needs in the field of humidity measurement.

In addition the NPL advisory service on humidity metrology provides support for members during the year.
