On-line gauging systems manufacturer NDC has launched a new icon-driven version of its operator interface for the popular MM710 series of analysers.

The new interface gives fast, easy access to on-line process measurements such as moisture, fat, protein and coat-weight for more informed decision making and closer process control.

The improved operator interface has evolved from close consultation with NDC customers.

It is intuitive and simple to use, with the fewest possible key strokes per function.

'Product Manager' allows the user to create, copy, store and edit settings for any number of discrete products.

Access to stored set-up parameters is via a handy drop down menu.

Many manufacturing lines use NDC gauges for measurement of critical parameters such as moisture, protein, fat, sugar and coat-weight, positioned at different stages in the production process.

The new operator interface makes it more convenient for users to communicate with multiple gauges, giving central accessibility to the measurement values and set-up parameters for each unit, for more simple, functional and efficient control.

The growing operation of gauges in closed loop control means that customer confidence in the gauge accuracy is vital.

The MM710 now automatically generates a permanent record of its long-term stability every time the NDC unique auto-check facility 'Automatic Reference Standard' is used.

'The MM710 gauge and its new operator interface are designed to meet the demanding on-line measurement requirements of the diverse industrial processing industry,' comments Andrew Brunt, Business Development Manager, NDC: 'The new operator interface reflects the NDC aim to deliver clear, accurate information from which decisions can be confidently made to help improve process control and lead to better product quality and consistency'.

The NDC interface features a VGA TFT LCD colour touch screen with back light to give high-definition displays of the measurement and set-up information.

A USB port has been added next to the standard serial port, allowing convenient PC connection for calibration and diagnostic purposes.

The new interface comes as standard with all new gauges and can also be used with existing MM710 instruments.
