Nesta FameLab is back from March 6, offering free presentation training and the chance to win money and foreign travel - just for talking about your work! If you're over 21 and work (or research) in engineering, technology, science or maths, you could win GBP2000, an internship with Channel 4 and an international tour of public appearances - last year's winner is just back from Sri Lanka.
If you want to share your passion, register online at www.famelab.org or just turn up at one of our regional heats.
You'll get feedback from our expert judges and an hour's Masterclass from Science Communicator Malcolm Love.
Impress the judges with your three minute presentation and you could be on your way to a residential weekend of media training, a showreel, and the final at Cheltenham Science Festival.
The overall winner gets GBP2000, an internship with Channel 4, and an international programme of events arranged with the British Council.
The heats are in London on March 6th at the Science Museum Dana Centre; March 10th in Cardiff at the National Museum; March 11th at the Plymouth National Marine Aquarium; March 17th in York at the National Railway Museum; March 24th at the Glasgow Science centre, March 31st at Science Oxford, and in Belfast on April 15th at Black Box.
You can register from 0900.
We're looking for Content, Clarity and Charisma, all in just 3 minutes.
No PowerPoints, no elaborate demonstrations, just you and whatever you need to make us excited about your subject.
If it's not for you, but you know somebody else who won't shut up about their work, and has a gift for making complex ideas clear and obscure facts exciting, let them know about Nesta FameLab.
Nesta FameLab is the brainchild of Cheltenham Science Festival and Nesta (the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) and is supported by the Daily Telegraph, the Research Councils of the UK, the British Council and Channel 4.
