Earth-Rite Tellus - A new static
earthing system

Earth-Rite Tellus is an ATEX certified intrinsically safe static earthing system that offers best practice compliance with the major standards for static control in the hazardous process plant areas

These standards are typically expressed in the Cenelec CLC/TR 50404: Code of practice for the avoidance of hazards due to static electricity, and in NFPA 77: Recommended Practice on Static Electricity The Earth-Rite Tellus is suitable for a wide array of hazardous area applications that involve:

* Drum, IBC, or tank product transfers in the presence of flammable hazardous atmospheres.

* Two phase mixing or rapid mixing, blending or agitation of flammable substances.

* Permanent connection to processes that require round the clock static dissipative monitoring.

* Control output capability to alarms or systems that control the process generating static charges.

For more applications register for your free copy of the 2008 updated version of the Newson Gale 'Earthing and Bonding Applications Booklet'.

The Earth-Rite Tellus features include:.

* Continuous Loop Monitoring which ensures the static dissipative circuit remains at 10 ohms or less (as per CLC/TR: 50404 + NFPA 77).

* A highly luminous green flashing LED that provides operators with positive indication of low resistance static circuits and connections.

* A set of output control contacts which can interlock with a sound alarm or strobe light, or feed into a system process to prevent the generation of static electricity.

The Earth-Rite Tellus indicator can be installed in Zone 0 hazardous areas and includes a heavy duty stainless steel Cen-Stat clamp and chemically resistant, anti-static cable.

The indicator is lightweight and flexible to mount, particularly in locations where space is at a premium.

The monitoring is mounted in local non-hazardous areas and contains an additional flashing LED to indicate to personnel outside the hazardous area when it is actively monitoring the quality of the static dissipative circuit. Request a free brochure from Newson Gale ...
