Nuspark Engineering introduces the new VRC-12 Vertical Rotary Cartoner, which features several industry-first advancements that achieve superior repeatability, reliability and speed while maximising equipment versatility.

The fastest intermittent rotary motion cartoner on the market, the Nuspark affordable VRC-12 erects and fills up to 80 cartons per minute or more within its compact footprint.

The VRC-12 Cartoner uses a special carton feeder, positively erecting cartons into buckets that hold them in place with integrated suction cups, therefore eliminating friction between rails and cartons and preventing scuffs and scratches on high quality finished packages.

Featuring more stations than most cartoners, the VRC-12 sets the standard for speed in an intermittent rotary motion cartoner while offering the ultimate in equipment versatility.

In addition to the standard cartoning stations, this 12-station cartoner has spare stations which allow Nuspark to offer options such as a leaflet inserter, printer, bar code reader, open flap detector, missing product inspection and automatic reject system, as required by each specific application.

These options can be integrated into the new cartoner or retrofitted later in the field, as production needs change, maximizing production flexibility.

Nuspark can manufacture the VRC-12 in anodised aluminium or stainless steel construction, depending on the needs of the packager.

Additionally, the cartoner can be built to withstand harsh environments with sealed stainless steel housings that protect against water and dust, meeting NEMA 4X washdown standards, if necessary.

Nuspark can equip the VRC-12 with either AC drive/indexed or servo drive technology.

Built to ease changeover, the VRC-12 features 12 buckets, made of either urethane or stainless steel, held in place by magnets -- another industry-first on this type of cartoner.

One operator can changeover this cartoner in five to ten minutes with no tools required.

The VRC-12 accommodates cartons ranging in size from 1/2 to 5 inches in length, from 1/2 to 4 inches in width and from 2 to 15 inches in height.

Nuspark can design the infeed system to handle a wide variety of products, even designing the VRC-12 with horizontal loading if a specific product is better handled with side-loading.

Consuming only three feet by three feet of floorspace, the compact VRC-12 is easy to integrate on the production line.

With this compact footprint and affordable price, a packager needing to run 100 cpm or more can install two VRC-12 Cartoners rather than one higher speed cartoner without increasing costs or floorspace, thereby improving productivity by reducing equipment downtime.

Nuspark designed the VRC-12 Cartoner with a unique crankshaft feeder that mechanically links the carton feeder with the crankshaft mechanism.

This system improves the repeatability of the cartoning operation and the reliability of the equipment while maximizing throughput.

The cartoner magazine also facilitates repeatability; positioned with constant backpressure, the magazine holds up to 700 cartons.
