At the Hanover Fair, ODVA will make a key announcement about CIP Motion (the distributed motion extension to CIP), which provides extensions to CIP Networks (and EtherNet/IP in particular) that facilitate distributed motion control.
When applied to EtherNet/IP, CIP Motion offers a high performance motion control solution that has distinct technical and business advantages over other emerging motion control networks.
With safety networks a prime focus for manufacturers, ODVA will also be making important announcements about the implementation of CIP Safety on EtherNet/IP.
The expansion of CIP Safety to EtherNet/IP allows users to continue to benefit from a system that provides unprecedented flexibility, usability, and consistency.
A live demonstration of CIP Safety on DeviceNet will be featured on the stand, sponsored by Omron, Rockwell Automation and Sick.
ODVA also expects to be detailing its activities, focused on EtherNet/IP, with the US Council on Automotive Research (USCAR) to advance manufacturing technologies to improve competitiveness and productivity of the US automotive industry .
A further feature of the ODVA stand will be a Members Gallery, highlighting EtherNet/IP solutions from Turck, Bosch Rexroth, Moxa Networking, Hilscher, Rockwell Automation and Hirschmann.
