By making it commercially available for the first time, Oil Plus has reduced the long lead times and considerable costs previously involved, and put a unique set of new tools into the hands of the international operators who need more detailed information to solve such problems as reservoir souring, microbial influenced corrosion and bio-fouling.
The new services are based around a suite of purpose-built laboratories which Oil Plus has recently opened at its UK headquarters in Newbury.
Staffed by fully qualified and industry-experienced specialists, the laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for molecular microbiology analysis and research.
Oil Plus also utilises many analytical chemistry techniques and apparatus which it has developed to meet the specific needs of its clients.
"Our new laboratories and the range of research tools we have now will allow us to provide even greater support to our customers," comments the Principal Microbiologist at Oil Plus, Dr Braden Dunsmore: "We can now undertake more detailed microbial investigations and make the findings available to customers far more rapidly and less expensively than before, allowing them to plan field development activities more effectively and deal with any problems they encounter far more effectively than they might have done before".
Oil Plus has 25 years experience in providing specialist technical expertise to the international oil and gas industry.
The company involvement in over 700 international oilfield projects has enabled it to develop specialist expertise in many different areas including water injection, separation processes, production chemistry and produced water handling.
