Panel-space shortage becomes a thing of
the past

Omron, the industrial automation specialist, has launched the Sysmac One series, combining control and HMI functionality into one transparent package to meet the requirements of machine builders

Omron, the industrial automation specialist, has launched the Sysmac One series, combining control and HMI functionality into one transparent package to tackle the requirements of machine builders: to reduce panel space and minimise installation time, without any compromise on capability All Sysmac One devices include a NS-series HMI, available in a wide range of display sizes with a choice of two powerful CJ1 series PLCs, plus a standard network interface such as DeviceNet or Profibus - all in one unit

There is also an option to place an extension board at the back of any Sysmac One unit offering extra functionality such as an advanced Ethernet interface or an I/O extension board.

Performance is enhanced with separate CPUs, whilst the transparent architecture enables easy remote maintenance - both the PLC and HMI components and even field devices are transparently accessible through a single port.

As well as incorporating multiple networks, Omron Smart Active Parts technology - pre-programmed, pre-tested visualisation objects with embedded communication code - delivers 'drag and drop' simplicity to HMI design for easy connection to field devices.

Sysmac One is also completely integrated into the Omron CX-One concept.

With CX-One software, users can build, configure and programme a host of devices such as PLCs, HMIs and motion-control systems and networks using a single software package with one installation and license number.

This reduces the complexity of the configuration and allows automation systems to be programmed or configured with minimal training.

Machine builders can also combine Sysmac One with the new and intelligent Omron SmartSlice modular I/O system where panel space is at an absolute premium.

Bill Swain, Product Marketing Manager of Omron Electronics commented: "Our close working relationship with machine builders indicates that there is increasing pressure to reduce panel space. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics ...

Sysmac One saves space and offers extended functionality which we believe will be welcomed by the market.".
