Orbimatic GmbH has introduced a major new option for the Orbimat 250C orbital welding power supply, an arc voltage control module, allowing the unit to be used with the tube to tube sheet weld head

Orbimatic GmbH has introduced a major new option for their Orbimat 250C orbital welding power supply This unit can now be supplied with an arc voltage control module, which allows the unit to be used with the new P16M tube to tube sheet weld head

It is widely know that TIG welding is a constant current process and as the arc gap increases so does the arc voltage.

This is the very principle the arc voltage module uses to control the height of the arc gap.

The arc voltage control module monitors the arc voltage and then controls a precision slide which controls the height of the welding torch to give a consistent arc gap all around the circumference of the tube.
