Octaquest - the unique range of biodegradable chelants from Octel Performance Chemicals has won the UK Green Technology Award for 2003 The competition was run by the Crystal Faraday Partnership which brings together three prestigious organisations; the Institution of Chemical Engineers, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Chemical Industries Association

Product Manager Nick Dixon said: "For Octaquest to win the Green Technology Award in the Industrial Category is a great achievement and is independent testimony - of the highest calibre - of what a unique and environmentally significant product Octaquest truly is".

"Unlike typical chelants such as EDTA and phosphonates, Octaquest biodegrades harmlessly before entering any river or other water course.

This shows that essential daily products do not have to cost the earth".

"Everyone at Octel Performance Chemicals can be duly proud of the impact we have made - and are continuing to make - amongst our chemical peers.".
