Outotec has agreed with Scandinavian Minerals of Canada for the delivery of grinding technology for the Scandinavian Minerals Kevitsa project in Finland The contract value exceeds EUR 20 million

Kevitsa, located in Sodankyla in northern Finland, is an undeveloped sulphide nickel deposit containing also copper and platinum group metals.

The Outotec scope of delivery consists of three fully autogenous grinding mills of Outotec proprietary design, planned to treat approximately five million tonnes of ore per year.

The fully autogenous Outotec mills will bring substantial savings in operational costs of the grinding circuit compared to traditional semi-autogenous mills.

The mills are due to be delivered in the first quarter of 2010 and the processing plant is planned to be operational later in 2010.
