Outotec further orders for Boliden Aitik
mine
Outotec has been awarded a contract by Boliden for the supply of a complete flotation circuit for the copper ore project at the Aitik mine in Sweden
Earlier this year Boliden ordered engineering services from Outotec for the same project The total value of these contracts is approximately EUR 25 million
The Boliden Aitik mine is one of Europe's largest producers of copper and a major producer of gold and silver.
New investments, including building a modern new concentrator, will double the Aitik annual production capacity to 36 million tonnes of ore.
The Outotec scope in this engineering and supply project comprises 52 flotation cells fully installed with auxiliary systems.
The TankCell units will also feature the latest field-proven and patented FloatForce mixing technology developed by Outotec.
The deliveries will be completed during 2009.
In addition to this flotation contract, Outotec is currently delivering a regrinding pebble mill for Aitik based on an earlier order.
