Packline manufactures the popular range of Compac stainless steel lifting machines, and have recently developed a clamp attachment specifically for lifting and rotating drums The attachment has been designed with twin rocking gripper pads on each of the clamp arms: this provides a snug wrap around onto the drums circumference enabling it to be securely clamped without crushing or deforming the drum, a feature particularly useful when lifting and handling thin walled vessels

Another feature of the clamp attachment is its geared rotation, once clamped the drum can be manually rotated effortlessly through the hand wheel driven gearbox.
Geared rotation enables the drum to be rotated in a controlled manner to any position within 360degrees, ideal when used for pouring out the contents of the drum.
The standard design will cater for a range of diameters between 350mm - 650mm and when used in conjunction with the Compac Lifter the clamp attachment provides the ideal solution for lifting and rotating drums weighing up to 250kg.
Because of the clamp attachments flexible design the company is able to offer cost effective solutions to suit a wide range of drum sizes and lifting applications.
Other attachments already available include vertical spindle, single/double spindle; platform; rotating tray; cradle; clamp and die-block.
With each type possessing a number of variations, Packline now offer more than 50 standard attachments covering a wide range of lifting requirements.
The company also offer a full bespoke special design service and Chris Baker, Packline Managing Director, said "One of our best kept secrets is our ability to work with our clients to create lifting solutions specific to their requirements.
There are certain applications not covered by the standard range of products and we can provide economical solutions to even the most difficult of lifting challenges".
