He is now keen to bring his skills and experience to Packaging Automation, which has established itself as the UK's leading manufacturer of tray sealing and filling equipment.
From his base in Northampton, Jonathan will be responsible for existing business clients in the south, as well as developing new accounts.
Commenting on his new role Jonathan said: "The opportunity to join Packaging Automation came at just the right time for me.
After 10 years with one company I was ready for a new challenge - and because of the close working relationship between PA and my previous employer I have had plenty of opportunities to get an insight into how the company and its staff operate.
I have always been extremely impressed and am delighted that I now have this fantastic chance to join the team".
He added: "The PA reputation goes before it in the packaging industry in terms of design and manufacture of quality equipment, as well as their sales support and back-up.
I am confident I can make a very positive contribution".
Commenting on Jonathan's appointment, Packaging Automation sales manager Neil Ashton said: "Jonathan brings a wide range of experience from his previous role which will be very valuable.
He is familiar with the sorts of pressures on a business like our own and he clearly has the skills, motivation and experience to help us in our strategy to build on our current strong sales growth".
Jonathan is 32 and married with three young children - twin boys aged 14 months as well as a three-year old son.
In his free time he is an accomplished sailor and is the current European Champion for the Fireball class.
He is also a former British Champion in the same event and, keeping with the outdoor sporting theme, he enjoys participating in triathalons.
