Packaging Automation, the UK leader in the design and manufacture of packaging equipment, will show some of its top filling and tray sealing machines at this year's Total Exhibition The company is expecting high levels of interest in its Fastfill100 machine, which has generated numerous orders since its successful launch at the PPMA show last year

This twin head high speed filling, sealing and overlidding machine can operate at speeds of up to 100 pots per minute depending on the nature and viscosity of the product.

Pots of up to 130mm in diameter and 140mm deep can be accommodated and sealed with pre-cut or reel fed film and foil lids.

Its design and advanced control features - including a touch screen storing up to 50 recipe programmes - ensure increased productivity and reduced downtime.

It can be used for an extensive range of products including drinks, cream, yoghurts, sauces, dips, soups and liquid desserts.

And such is its versatility, the Fastfill100 can also be used for dry products such as nuts, cereal and confectionery.

For lower volume filling requirements, another of the company's successful filling range - the Fastfill40 - will be shown alongside its larger counterpart.

The "baby" of the PA filling range provides a low cost, high quality packing option from a well designed, compact machine and offers lighter and simpler change parts for speedier changeovers.

Amongst the tray sealers on display will be the Vision 400 fully automatic, high speed machine, offering atmospheric, MAP-F, MAP-V and high oxygen flushing, making it suitable for a wide range of meat, poultry, vegetables, and convenience foods.

The Vision 400 is capable of sealing plain or printed film to CPET, APET, aluminium foil, polypropylene, PVC and board.

It combines simplicity and flexibility with a maximum speed of 21 cycles per minute and is in use throughout the food industry - with customers impressed by its compact dimensions, two minute tooling changes and advanced control systems.

Another machine on prominent display on Stand 5310, will be the popular PA182 semiautomatic hand turned rotary table machine.

Amongst the features that have boosted the PA182 popularity worldwide are its reliability and robust design resulting in reduced downtime and ease of use.

Trays up to 100mm deep can be accommodated and tools can be changed in just two minutes.

Commenting on the impressive Packaging Automation line-up for Total, sales manager Neil Ashton said: "Packaging Automation tray sealers and filling machines are in extensive use throughout the UK in a wide range of industry sectors.

We offer attractive hire and lease deals and are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our stand at Total to discuss their packaging requirements".

The Total Exhibition is at Birmingham from 15-18 May, and Packaging Automation will be on Stand 5310.
