New concepts in telemetry reviewed
Mike Knights of Pacscom looks at the changes which are coming and will inevitably effect and benefit the water industry in terms of telemetry systems
According to Pacscom, it is ideally suited for applications where keeping a check on security in more remote and infrequently visited buildings and installations is essential.
"ExploreR uses the SMS (Short Message System) to receive set up commands and to send alarm messages," Says Mike Knights, Sales and Marketing Director at Pacscom.
"The basic set up monitors the input signals and dials out to a mobile phone number if any changes occur.
Output signals are controlled by a specific message from a mobile and are acknowledged to confirm the output signal has been changed as requested".
ExploreR is 12vc dc powered (power supply available for mains powered applications) and is connected via a standard 2.5mm jack.
The high number of features makes it perfect for advanced users, whilst still maintaining a miniature OEM format for general integration requirements.
"The ExploreR is the perfect solution for people who want to ensure that they are immediately aware of an alarm or security situation whilst on the move," says Mike Knights.
"But there is far more to this module than security.
Via a mobile phone, the user can send messages to the ExploreR instructing it to activate selected equipment or building services as required.".
