Pavilion Technologies, a leader in model-based software, announced that cement industry veteran Brian Forsythe will take a leadership role as Industry Solution Director for Cement, Minerals and Mining

Pavilion Technologies, a world leader in model-based software, today announced that cement industry veteran Brian Forsythe takes a leadership role as Industry Solution Director for Cement, Minerals and Mining With more than a decade of experience in cement management and advanced process control, Forsythe has worked with world-class cement manufacturers in the US, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Venezuela, Peru, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines to enhance productivity and efficiency in all areas of manufacturing

Forsythe will direct the company's cement, minerals and mining business, including sales support, solution development, client management and engineering services.

"We are delighted to welcome Brian to our team," said Matt Tormollen, chief marketing officer, Pavilion Technologies.

"His experience and knowledge will ensure we deliver the highest value to our cement and minerals customers".

Forsythe most recently served as an assistant plant manager for Lehigh Cement in their Union Bridge, Maryland 2.5 million ton plant.

A subsidiary of Heidelberg Cement, this facility is the largest in the Heidelberg group worldwide.

Forsythe joined Heidelberg Cement in 2000 as a process engineer at the Heidelberg Technology Centre supporting North American operations and was a member of the Heidelberg pyroprocessing expert group.

In 2003, he joined the Lehigh Cement Union Bridge management team overseeing finish grinding and shipping operations before being promoted to assistant plant manager the following year.

Prior to joining Heidelberg, he served as a senior commissioning engineer for FL Smidth for six years.

In this role, he helped clients start up six new cement lines, audit and improve process performance, and deploy control and optimisation solutions throughout the world.

"Plant managers are realising that to keep pace with cement market demand, they must capture the full potential of their assets," said Brian Forsythe, industry solution director for cement minerals and mining, Pavilion Technologies.

"The Pavilion model-predictive control solutions on pyroprocessing and milling make it possible to dramatically improve operating efficiencies resulting in elevated capacities, minimised specific variable costs and reduced emission levels.

I'm excited by the opportunity to help my peers in the industry achieve their growth targets".

The Pavilion cement solution addresses the most difficult challenges facing cement manufacturers including increased customer demands, high energy costs, strict environmental limits and the use of secondary fuels.

Based on proven model-predictive control technology, Pavilion cement process control applications deliver optimisation across core production areas including raw meal preparation, pyroprocessing and finish grinding.

Pavilion environmental applications help cement manufacturers to achieve environmental compliance by monitoring, aggregating, and reporting real-time emissions performance.

Leveraging model predictive intelligence technology, the Pavilion production performance management applications allow cement manufacturers to visualise the critical historic, real-time, and predictive metrics that impact business performance.

These applications leverage their strong domain expertise and the powerful Pavilion8 software platform for modeling, control, monitoring, analysis, visualisation and integration.

With more than 43 projects applied in less than 36 months, customers report faster time-to-value and greater long-term value than alternative solutions.
