Fonterra Canpac packaging adopts Pavilion PPM

Fonterra Canpac has implemented the Pavilion Production Performance Management solution to identify and minimise downtime and reduce waste throughout their packaging production process

Pavilion Technologies, a world leader in model-based software, today announced that Fonterra Canpac, a manufacturer of product packaging and a packing operation, has implemented the Pavilion Production Performance Management (PPM) solution to proactively drive performance to business targets, identify and minimise downtime and reduce waste throughout the packing process.

Fonterra Canpac selected Pavilion8 for production monitoring on 32 lines over six departments.

This project represents the first deployment of the Pavilion Production Performance Management solution for a fast moving consumer goods manufacturer.

Using the information made available through Pavilion8, Fonterra Canpac expects to reduce wastage and significantly increase productivity.

Bottom line benefits resulting from this project are expected to be better than the criteria set when internally justifying the project.

The Pavilion Production Performance Management solution enables manufacturers to align production processes with business targets to enhance their profitability.

Leveraging the Pavilion8 software platform, the PPM application allows Fonterra Canpac line operators and management to view personalised Key Performance Indicators (KPI) from a common information repository providing a single system of record for all performance metrics.

Data is captured from a variety of real-time and transactional data sources and automatically validated, aggregated, calculated and contextually stored.

Fonterra Canpac runs performance metrics for line uptime, operational effectiveness and efficiency, waste, downtime and quality assurance are visualised by a user's job function.

In addition, the Pavilion PPM solution uses model-based calculations to compare current performance against historic and predicted measures.
