Recent 'Value Forum' 06 exceeds expectations
The Pavilion Technologies Value Forum 06 was a customer-based conference designed to provide value to attendees by identifying key factors to improve their manufacturing and production processes
Pavilion Technologies recently presented its Value Forum '06 user conference in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, from 10-12 May.
Focusing on global reach, the conference drew over 80 industry leaders from over 30 companies representing 18 countries from all over the world.
In a mixture of plenary sessions and customer case study-based breakout tracks, participants identified key factors to improve their manufacturing and production processes to create real value throughout their organisation.
Throughout the 3-day event, the focus was on leveraging best practices.
Numerous Pavilion customers spoke on their experience using Pavilion software to increase production, reduce variable costs, enhance product quality and manage emissions.
Independent industry experts Colin Masson from AMR Research and Tom Fiske from ARC Advisory Group gave participants insight into trends in the industry, strategies being employed to achieve the next generation of inNovation and growth and the profile of winners.
Pavilion also featured a general session address from SAP.
Dr Hans-Heiner Wust, Solution Manager IBU Chemicals at SAP, discussed the partnership between SAP and Pavilion to enable adaptive manufacturing.
Pavilion is part of the newly created SAP Industry Value Network for Chemicals, a network consisting of leading independent software vendors - including Pavilion - system integrators and executives from leading chemical companies.
Dr Wust highlighted the value network and explained its aim to solve the most pressing business challenges of chemicals manufacturing customers.
In a related presentation, Nova Chemicals presented their manufacturing excellence programme and how they benefit from the integration of the Pavilion Model Predictive Intelligence technology and the SAP xMII application and Enterprise Portal to leverage and visualise models used in control for operations and business performance management.
The event provided opportunities for participants to network with their peers, Pavilion spokespeople and industry experts.
An opening dinner and roundtable breakfast were arranged according to industry, giving participants an opportunity to discuss mutual challenges and exchange insights and best practices related to their specific field.
In addition to the plenary sessions, tailored customer case study-based value streams gave delegates the chance to put their own conference programme together to ensure that their benefit was as high as possible.
Participants were encouraged to move from stream to stream and attend the sessions most interesting for them.
Existing Pavilion customers spoke on their experience with Pavilion technology and how they were able to reduce variable costs, enhance product quality and stay competitive, increase production levels and monitor and trade with emissions.
Pavilion also demonstrated new innovations in their flagship software suite Pavilion8 in a technology showcase, highlighting the latest Pavilion8 powered applications - Control, Real-time Environmental Management and Production Performance Management.
This hands-on session allowed delegates to view in-depth, user case scenarios of the software and engage Pavilion product experts on topics relating to particular applications and deployment.
