He was senior sales executive with the group's International Boat Industry and European Boatbuilder magazines.
Until Clifton's appointment, PDM stand sales had been handled by the existing PRW sales team of Joe Opitz, Matthew Barber, Richard Jarvis and Levent Tounjer.
"We are delighted to have Matthew on board to help build on the excellent start we've made with PDM," said Joe Opitz, sales director of Emap Maclaren Polymer Group.
"We already have more than 60% available floor space reserved and with Matthew making a positive contribution to our progress; in the past five days alone we have received signed contracts from 12 new exhibitors".
PDM 05 will take place in Telford on 12-14 April 2005.
It is being organised by Emap Maclaren, the publisher of PRW and European Plastics News.
The event has been developed with the input and backing of the founding partner companies.
These are Albis, Arburg, ATM, Battenfeld, Clariant, Distrupol, DuPont, Gabriel-Chemie, Husky Injection Moulding Systems, Motan, Netstal, Plastribution and Summit Systems.
