Stringent regulations, harsh environmental conditions and rigorous plant operations require a well-designed food grade lubricant.
Petro-Canada has established an excellent reputation in quality and performance with its Purity industrial food grade line.
With the addition of Microl, a new level in lubricant product protection has been achieved.
"Protecting food grade lubricants from deterioration, fouling, and odour caused by micro-organisms is a new frontier in the optimisation of equipment performance", says Dr Henry Sapiano, Manager of R+D for fluids and greases: "Purity FG with Microl should be considered as part of an integrated plan to protect food processing equipment".
"From farm to fork, there are many points of engagement in the food safety process," says Dr Ruby Lee, Senior Food Safety Project Manager at the Guelph Food Technology Centre.
"At the equipment programme level, there are a number of preventative maintenance efforts that can prevent downtime and ensure that where equipment can impact on food safety functions, it does so as intended, so that no hazard or possibility of a hazard occurs.
A programme utilising a registered food grade lubricant with antimicrobial preservative, such as Purity FG with Microl, is an effective solution for protecting the lubricant in food processing equipment".
Proven effective in extensive lab testing, the Petro-Canada Purity FG with the Microl antimicrobial formulation helps protect the lubricant from degradation due to microbes.
"Purity FG with Microl is a great choice for plants that are engaged with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) or GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) plans," says Flanagan.
