New actuator offers low cost linear
solutions
A new range of compact linear actuators, complete with drive, motor and gearbox, enables OEMs and end users alike to reduce the time and costs associated with machine design, build and maintenance
Parker Hannifin has announced the launch of a new range of compact linear actuators, which can be supplied as an integrated unit, complete with drive, motor and gearbox, enabling both OEMs and end users alike to reduce the time and costs associated with machine design, build and maintenance Designated the LCB, these new linear actuators can be used as an effective, low cost option to replace both traditional rodless and servo pneumatic-devices in a wide range of materials handling, labelling, wrapping and general automation applications

Off-the-shelf linear motion is now more powerful
With a maximum thrust force of 560N and typical payload of up to 30kg, the new LCB060 compact linear actuators allow cost-effective high-performance linear motion systems with off-the-shelf products
Higher power for off-the-shelf linear motion
With a thrust force of 560N and payload of 30kg, the new LCB060 compact linear actuators allow cost-effective high-performance linear motion systems using standard off-the-shelf products
The LCB has been designed to provide high levels of reliability with minimal service requirements.
Utilising maintenance-free bearings, all variants of the LCB, including multi-axis systems, are available for despatch within one week of order.
A uniquely designed mechanism is integrated into the central aluminium profile of the LCB, creating an extremely robust and lightweight unit with an impressive stroke of up to 5.5m.
In addition, the use of a timing belt reinforced with steel wires further improves high-speed operation, repeatability and operating life.
Available in two frame sizes, the LCB040 and the LCB060 offer thrust forces of up to 160N and 560N, and typical payloads of 3kg and 15kg respectively.
In each case, the relatively low moving mass of the carriage assembly permits high dynamic movement to be achieved at speeds of up to 8m/sec, with accelerations up to 20m/sec2 and repeatability of within +/-0.2 mm.
Additionally, the low mass helps to reduce power consumption, while the absence of recirculating ball mechanisms results in exceptionally low operating noise.
The LCB units can easily be combined to provide dual or multi-axis systems, and are complemented by a large range of mounting kits and accessories, including limit switches that are easily fitted and adjusted within the profile.
With Parker's unrivalled range of automation products, a number of integrated solutions can be specified with the LCB range of actuators.
These include the flagship Compax3 servo controllers, programmed in the manufacturer-independent CoDeSys development environment using the intuitive IEC61131-3 language, and the ViX-series of microstepper and servo drives.
