Colour Sensing in Hazardous Areas

The popular Pepperl+Fuchs Visolux VCS110 Colour Sensor is now available in a version suitable for use in Zone 2 and Zone 22 Hazardous Areas

The popular Pepperl+Fuchs Visolux VCS110 Colour Sensor is now available in a version suitable for use in Zone 2 and Zone 22 Hazardous Areas With the same revolutionary specification, which allows the detection of colours and the ability to distinguish between colours at sensing distances of up to 100mm, the VCS110/133 Colour Sensor has ExII 2/3G EEx nAII T4/EExII T4 designation and an EC prototype test certificate TUV 01 ATEX 1969 X

Electrical connections are via 2 x M12 connectors fitted to the anodised aluminium housing which contains the function displays and membrane keys.

A range of reflective (direct detect) fibre optic cables is available to ensure that the modulated white light source can be precisely located where needed to obtain reliable detection.

Up to 10 channels can be programmed to memorise a colour by means of a simple Teach-In process that can be from an external source, making the device ideal for use on many applications in the electronic, chemical and pharmaceutical industries where accurate colour detection is essential.

The sensor, which requires a supply voltage of 18 to 30 VDC, has an operating temperature range of -10C to +50C and pnp short circuit proof outputs for control use. Request a free brochure from Pepperl+Fuchs GB ...
