Power supplies with high operational
reliability

For use in safe areas and those with a Zone 2 explosion risk, Phoenix Contact is now offering the Quint Diode redundancy module compliant with type 'n' explosion protection as defined by EN 50021

This means that power supplies connected in parallel to provide redundancy can now be fully decoupled The use of power supplies with high operational reliability increases the availability of the overall system

Redundant systems also minimise downtime, with 2 power supplies connected in parallel each dimensioned so that the overall power requirement of all consumers can be covered by a single device.

If the system availability is to be increased even further, the logical solution is to use a diode redundancy module.

Then even if a short circuit were to occur at the output of one of the power supplies, the second automatically takes over the task of supplying the consumers, thus ensuring an uninterrupted power supply.

The DIN rail mounted module is fast to install, handles currents up to 60A and operates in ambient temperatures in the Ex areas of -25 to +60C.
