Pilz unveils extensive range of operator terminals
Pilz Automation Technology is launching a number of new human-machine interfaces, ranging from a compact diagnostic unit for safety-related control systems to larger units compatible with leading PLCs
New functions in the upgraded software include an expanded cross-reference list, an enhanced data block editor and the ability to view the variable status and a dynamic programme display simultaneously across several programme segments.
Other new features are an ability to save variable lists for 'status' and 'control' variables, multiple selections when importing blocks from another project, and a sort function for the allocation table.
Allocation tables can also be imported from other projects created using PSS SW PG, PSS WIN-PRO v1.2.0 or earlier versions.
Users can now choose whether to build failsafe and standard control applications using Instruction List (IL), Ladder Diagram (LD) or Function Block Diagram (FBD) languages.
Comprehensive browser-based, context-sensitive online help files are included to assist with programming and troubleshooting.
In addition to PSS WIN-PRO, Pilz also has a wide range of standard libraries of approved function blocks that can be used within PSS programmes.
These range from emergency stops to power presses, transfer lines and burner management.
As well as failsafe function blocks, there are also blocks for standard control functions and communications.
To complement PSS WIN-PRO, Pilz offers the PSS WIN-QLD service tool that provides read-only access to programmes and therefore prevents unauthorised programme changes being made.
Moreover, PSS WIN-QLD provides diagnostic functions such as dynamic programme display and an error stack display for the CPU and hardware configuration.
