Following its highly successful launch in 2007, Pro2Pac, the only biennial exhibition dedicated to processing and packaging in the food and drink industry, is back for 2009

The 2009 event is expected to increase by over 31 per cent in size as Pro2Pac becomes widely recognised as one of the must-attend exhibitions in the industry Taking place alongside IFE09 in ExCeL, London, from 15 to 18 March 2009, the Pro2Pac strategic positioning will offer visitors and exhibitors a unique 360-degree perspective of the food and drink industry

Pro2Pac 2009 will be organised for the first time by Reed Exhibitions, who will aim to build on the inaugural 2007 exhibition by showcasing the latest ideas, equipment, light machinery, systems, technology, services and materials relevant to the food and drink industry.

Exhibitors will not only benefit from meeting a dedicated food and drink manufacturing audience, but also the UK and international manufacturers and processors exhibiting at, and visiting the sister show, IFE in the adjacent exhibition halls.

New for this year's show, Packaging Innovation @ Pro2Pac is a series of free seminars that will form one of the central visitor attractions at the exhibition.

Featuring contributions from brand owners, major retailers, and industry experts, the seminars will address hot topics relating to global food and drink packaging trends.

A combination of keynote addresses, short seminars and industry debates will provide useful and practical business advice for food and drink industry professionals.

In 2007, the exhibition attracted 12,900 registered visitors (ABC audited) including representatives from the top four UK multiples - Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons, as well as international retailers including Carrefour, Albert Hein, and Delhaize.

In addition senior level delegates from the likes of Dairy Crest, Bernard Matthews, HJ Heinz, Kerry Foods and Nestle, met with industry-leading manufacturers, technicians and processors to source solutions to their processing and packaging needs.

Simon Bolton, Sales Manager at Schoeller Arca Systems commented: "For show lead generation, this is one of the best shows we have exhibited at for years".

Robin Chudley, CEO of FFP Packaging, added: "We've had very good enquiries from quality prospects that we've not had contact with before".

Deborah Conneely, Marketing Manager at Pro2Pac stated: "Now in its second year, the growth of Pro2Pac is indicative of its unique positioning.

The show offers a truly differentiated service to the food manufacturing industry that no other event can match".

The success of the 2007 show is perhaps best summed up by Chris Parry, Managing Director, Norpak, who said: "I've been going to exhibitions for 25 years and I can honestly say Pro2Pac is one of the best and most successful I've ever been to.

It was extremely good - well organised and excellent in terms of sales leads.

Having been to so many exhibitions I know a good one when I see one, and this was certainly a cut above the rest! I've re-booked for the 2009 event and I'm really looking forward to having another fantastic show".

Located in the UK capital, Pro2Pac will also benefit from good transport links from an international perspective.

With two of the UK largest airports just a stone's throw away, access to the exhibition from abroad is not complicated.

"We are extremely excited about the second Pro2Pac," added Deborah: "Exhibitor space is already 50 per cent sold out and this coupled with the benefit of our experience, puts us in an excellent position to deliver real solutions to our customers business challenges".
