The new EasyLevel is introduced for easy-to-install continuous monitoring of liquid levels in atmospheric tanks Now available at the new on-line Plan-B shop is EasyLevel, an inexpensive programmable continuous monitoring system to detect liquid levels in tanks

Easy to install and use, the EasyLevel measures the static pressure at the bottom of the tank generated by the fluid above, and uses an LCD screen on the control unit to display the height/depth of fluid in the tank, or the volume, or the percentage fill in the tank.

If preset limits are exceeded, the control unit closes alarm circuits to trigger whatever alarms are appropriate.

The EasyLevel can detect the height of the fluid level from the bottom of the tank in millimetres or inches, up to 4m, the volume in litres or gallons and or how full the tank is as a percentage.

Accuracy is +/-1% and repeatability +/-0.5%.

The EasyLevel probe itself is non-electrical, so can be used safely with any liquid, including flammable liquids like kerosene, heating oil or diesel oil.

As well as water level, typical applications include the monitoring of levels of hydraulic oil, lubricating or transmission oil or vegetable oils in food production.

But you can use it for cider or tomato soup if that's your requirement - EasyLevel provides an automated mechanism for determining the density of the fluid in your tank if you do not already know it.

The EasyLevel consists of two units.

A weighted non-electrical probe attached to a 10-metre tube (up to 50 metres on request) goes into the tank and monitors the static pressure.

The other end of the tube is attached to a separate control unit that is fixed to a wall or to an adjacent fixing point, or mounted in a nearby building.

Built-in easy-to-use menu-driven intuitive software enables you to provide the control unit with the information that it needs via its LCD screen.

You enter the type and dimensions of the tank (vertical cylindrical, horizontal cylindrical or cuboid) or its known normal volume if it is irregularly shaped, define the maximum and minimum depths or volume that are acceptable and the maximum and minimum levels that should trigger an alarm.

You define the unit of measurement, calibrate the instrument and you are away.

Full instructions are provided.

Sealed to IP55, the control unit is suitable for use in remote locations and is easy to mount.

Power supply is either 230VAC (+/-5%), 50/60Hz or 110VAC (+/-5%), 50/60Hz, making the EasyLevel suitable for use anywhere in the world.

The new on-line Plan-B shop has been set up by Steve Moorey of the well-known Sussex-based company PVL (Pressure Vacuum Level) to make many types of essential instrumentation more accessible and easily purchased at highly competitive prices.

Managed by a new company called Plan-B Marketing, the website offers measurement instrumentation for compressed air flow, liquid level, temperature, leak detection, ultrasound generation and the measurement of elevation in surveying.

And that's just the start - many more products, currently being evaluated, will be added over the next few months.

EasyLevel costs just GBP295 plus VAT and carriage and is available now.

Just go to the website, click on the EasyLevel description for detailed information, and you can buy securely on line with a card.
