Ice cream manufacturing plant for auction

A Pro Auction product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Feb 25, 2008

Pro Auction will conduct a tender sale of an entire bespoke ice cream manufacturing plant in Bristol on 28 March

The entire plant with a capacity of 900 litres per hour output is an ideal opportunity for potential purchasers wishing to enter the ice cream production market without the significant new machinery costs.

The plant also lends itself to bigger manufacturers wishing to batch produce or produce lower volume trial runs.

The plant is in excellent working order throughout and it is expected that the interest will be greatest with new entrants to the sector.

The sale will include all aspects of ice cream production to include Alfa Laval SHL 15 homogeniser; 2 x 1200 litre pasteurisation tanks; an APV two stage cooling plate system; 2 x ageing vats.

In addition the complete pipe-work and control panels, refrigeration compressor package and the Baltimore VXMC65 condenser / cooling tower are included in the offering.

It is predicted that the UK ice cream market will increase by around 30 percent during the next five years, with growth being experienced in this impulse sector.

Seasonality will become less of a factor in annual sales figures as more manufacturers introduce wider ranges of products.

The ice cream market has historically suffered from a degree of seasonality with sales peaking in the summer months.

However, with suppliers taking a pro-active approach to the market by pursuing new product introductions throughout the seasons and promotions initiated in the winter as well as the summer.

Simon Rose of Pro Auction said "We have seen an increasing level of interest in used food machinery and in particular demand for ice cream plants appears to be on the increase given the product is now not so seasonal.

The equipment is located currently with a manufacturer of confectionery, going to prove product innovation and synergy is very much thriving in the UK".
