Specialist water engineers, PMP, have appointed a new contracts manager, Sean Haynes, who began his career with Yorkshire Water in 1988

With Yorkshire Water Sean started as a mechanical maintenance fitter, so brings extensive experience to the PMP operations These include repair and maintenance contracting, AMEX-10 Seal installation, surveying and condition assessment in confined spaces

While working for McAlpine last year, Sean managed Yorkshire Water maintenance contracting for a large part of the region.

His troubleshooting skill was thoroughly tested during the severe flooding in Sheffield: "The Blackburn Meadows water treatment works quickly found itself under two metres of water", he adds, "It is a massive site and we had no safe means of powering the screw pumps and other plant.

We were bringing in high-output generators from all over the country to get everything running again within a week".

Sean will focus on the PMP Water Industry contracts.

An initial WTW project involves repairing and converting secondary settlement tanks and rescuing damaged penstock valves in a distribution chamber.

Commenting on his appointment Sean said: "New technical challenges crop up every day, which was a real incentive to join PMP, let alone their excellent reputation throughout the industry".

Planned Maintenance (Pennine) Limited, formed in 1983, are specialists in joint repair and testing for man accessible pipelines.

PMP also undertake penstock and valve repair, refurbishment or replacement, and reservoir surveys.
