New name in thermal imaging surveys
Procuro's range of electrical services has grown still further to include a division dealing with thermal imaging surveys
Procuro's range of electrical services has grown still further to include a division dealing with thermal imaging surveys "The decision to move into this area was taken for us by a customer base who demanded this service more and more." says Jon Goody of Procuro

E-scio range of energy sub-metering equipment
Non-domestic buildings are subject to the new Building Regulations 2000: one is to provide sub-metering of energy, so that at least 90% of end energy use can be quantified for each fuel type used
Better energy efficiency in smaller applications
Procuro's new E-scio range of energy monitoring equipment aims to make energy monitoring available even to smaller applications
He continues, "Many of our clients are finding their insurance companies specifying these surveys as an annual condition of cover.
Those that have yet to receive such requests are probably on borrowed time." Thermal Imaging uses special cameras which produce images from Infra-Red radiation, which is invisible to the human eye.
Such inspection is an extremely rapid method of identifying hot spots on equipment or electrical panels.
Therefore, a single survey could identify a low transformer oil level, a defective motor bearing, poor insulation and a defective circuit breaker in a panel! "There is currently no other method which can compete with thermal imaging.
It can provide an instant snapshot of plant health, identifying problem areas and locating faults undetectable by more conventional maintenance methods," says Jon Goody.
These surveys are non-invasive and can considerably reduce the chances of unplanned down time and loss of production.
A comprehensive report is provided with photographic evidence and prioritised actions which can reduce costly reactive maintenance.
A typical thermal imaging survey on a small to medium factory can be carried out in a single day and can be carried out as requested, or as part of a longer term Procuro maintenance agreement, perhaps encompassing regular electrical inspection or high voltage maintenance.
