The new Dulcodes Z range of UV systems for the disinfection of potable and process water at low operating costs has been introduced by ProMinent Fluid Controls (UK) Ltd.
Featuring low pressure Opti-Flux lamps, the new systems are certified by the DVGW and fulfil the requirements of the DVGW test regulation W 294.
This bio-dosimetric test determines the disinfection capability of a UV system based on actual microbiological test procedures rather than performance calculations.
The use of the new Opti-Flux low pressure reflector lamps ensures an efficient level of UV radiation throughout the long service life of the lamp.
With 14,000 operating hours and an output of 300W, these lamps have double the service life of traditional lamps.
The systems can be used with flow rates from 2 to 225 m3/hr, subject to the transmission.
The compact radiation chambers of the Dulcodes-Z maximise the performance of the Opti-Flux lamps and minimise the number of lamps required.
The chamber surfaces are highly polished to ensure maximum possible light reflection and the hydraulics have been optimised using the latest computational techniques to give even radiation of the entire water flow.
Each system is equipped with a UVC radiation sensor with long-term stability to monitor the disinfection capability.
The sensor output is displayed on a large graphical display on the control unit, together with disinfection warning and safety threshold levels.
Safety systems are incorporated so that on start-up, the system is flushed once the UVC level has exceeded the minimum disinfection level.
If the UVC capacity falls below the warning threshold during normal operation a warning signal is automatically issued.
If the UVC level falls below the safety threshold, the stop valve closes and the system is flushed.
As the system has a programmable flushing time, the flow reverts to normal if the UVC capacity returns to normal operating levels within the defined period.
