PPMA Show attracts first-time exhibitors
With over 80 per cent of floor space already booked, the PPMA Show, the UK's annual showcase for processing and packaging machinery, is also attracting a significant number of first-time exhibitors.
Currently, 23 new names will be lining up at the 2009 event, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 29 September to 1 October.
The exhibition provides an opportunity to demonstrate machinery and equipment live to a large audience of manufacturers, processors and engineers.
'We see the PPMA Show as a real opportunity to promote the clipping side of our business,' said Mark Bishop, director of Interfood Technology.
'Earlier this year, Interfood Technology launched into the UK a plastic clip-based system from Poly-clip, the Plasti-Clip Line EZ P 600.
'While predominantly designed for food applications, we recognise that the PPMA Show has an audience beyond just the food industry, and so we will be able to highlight the capability to employ the clip in other processing and packaging applications,' he added.
VC999, manufacturers of vacuum packaging machinery for industries such as food and medical, sees exhibiting at the PPMA Show as good business sense.
'Given the size, scope and influence of the PPMA Show, it's sensible that we take an active role by exhibiting our products,' explains Martin Howells, sales manager, southern region of VC999.
'We will be presenting a range of solutions - including our K7 machine, a conveyor-fed chamber system for the vacuum packaging of meat,' he added.
The PPMA Show's UK status also makes it an attractive proposition for international companies keen to increase their presence in the country, such as Wenglor Sensoric , a German-owned manufacturer of photoelectric and inductive sensors, image processing, OCR readers, bar-code scanners and safety technology.
'We have just launched a range of IP69K photoelectric sensors for the food and related industries, and we see the PPMA Show as a vital aid to help us reach potential customers,' explains the company's James Mayo.
Now entering its 21st year, the PPMA Show delivers production line solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency and flexibility across a wide range of industries including food and drink, household products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and toiletries.
