Parker flow components help Iran switch
to CNG
Parker tube fittings, valves, regulators and hoses have been selected by Hans Brochier to provide gas dispensers for the nationwide compressed natural gas powered public transport project in Iran
Parker tube fittings, valves, regulators and hoses have been selected by Hans Brochier GmbH and Co KG for its contract to provide gas dispensers for the nationwide compressed natural gas (CNG) powered public transport project in Iran Hans Brochier is currently providing fuel dispensing systems for over 40 filling stations at key high-traffic sites throughout the country, which will be used initially by a fleet of CNG fuelled buses

Spearheaded by the Iran Fuel Conservation Organisation (IFCO), this seminal project will substantially reduce exhaust emissions and improve the quality of life in Iran's urban areas, and make efficient use of Iranian natural gas resources.
The buses are being built locally using engine technology from MAN.
From now on, only gas fuelled buses are allowed to enter service in Iran, and following this initial phase of the project, IFCO expects to extend CNG fuelling availability more widely throughout the country via a further 100+ filling stations - creating one of the world's largest natural gas powered vehicle schemes.

The comprehensive package of Parker fluid control components is being supplied to Hans Brochier by the Parker distributor, HPS, and was chosen because of the engineering and supply-chain assistance that HPS was able to provide.
During the design phase, HPS helped by analysing the fluid flow arrangements in the gas storage, processing and dispensing system used in each installation, and identifying areas where the bill of materials could be reduced by use of Parker components - a task which included HPS designing an application-specific filter and connector which it assembles at its facility in Munich.
The distributor also helped to simplify the project by holding stock locally and delivering it to Hans Brochier as the gas dispensers are built, by arranging a spares storage facility in Iran, and by providing a special safety training programme in German, English and Farsi - to support both the installation and on-going maintenance of the fluid flow system.
The largest single element of the component package is the Parker Instrumentation twin ferrule A-LOK tube fitting, which is put through a unique burnishing stage to harden and smoothen the cone surface for high-integrity sealing in gas flow applications.
Around a hundred of these high-pressure stainless steel components are used at every gas dispensing site, to interconnect the various elements of the system: the storage tanks, compressor, gas dryer, and dispensers.
"The breadth of the Parker product portfolio allowed us to provide a complete fluid flow solution for this CNG dispensing project", says Parker Instrumentation territory manager, Heiner Klinkmann.
"Natural gas vehicles are a very fast-growing market, and the ground-breaking application in Iran is a global showpiece for the performance of Parker tube fitting and fluid flow components in this emerging high pressure application sector".
