Parker Instrumentation has launched a new series of high performance non-return valves optimised for cost-sensitive fluid instrumentation applications involving aggressive gaseous or liquid media

Parker Instrumentation has launched a new series of high performance non-return valves optimised for cost-sensitive fluid instrumentation applications The new Hi-Check valves employ a high integrity two-piece body with minimal leakage paths, and will accommodate pressures up to 10,000 psi / 689 bar

Designed specifically to combine a high flow rate capability with a low pressure drop, the valves are available with a wide choice of connections, body and seal materials to suit a diverse range of media.

Suitable for both fluid and gaseous applications, the new Hi-Check series is likely to prove popular with panel builders and OEMs seeking robust, low cost check valve solutions for oil and gas, chemical, pulp and paper, power generation and other industrial applications.

Hi-Check non-return valves (NRVs) are available fabricated from 316 stainless steel, Duplex or Monel, and offer a choice of 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch A-LOK (twin ferrule) or CPI (single ferrule) compression tube fitting connections, or female NPT threads.

The compression tube fitting equipped variants are also available in 6, 10 and 12mm sizes.

This wide choice of connection options allows users to choose the optimum solution for reduced installation time and cost.

The unique body design also helps maximise integrity by preventing any contact between the connector thread and the media.

Furthermore, the ability to specify the valve with integral compression tube fittings - instead of taper threads - means that users can achieve high integrity connections without any need for thread sealants.

The mating ends of the valve body are fitted with an environmental seal, to help prevent corrosion from external agents.

Standard Hi-Check NRVs are suitable for Class 2500 operation, with a cold working pressure (CWP) rating of 6000 psi / 414 bar; Class 4500 Hi-Check valves are optionally available, which will accommodate up to 10,000 psi CWP / 689 bar.

Both versions have a 4:1 pressure boundary safety factor, are hydrostatically tested in the factory to 1.5 times maximum working pressure, and are designed to meet the pressure and temperature requirements of ANSI / ASME B.16.34, as defined by the valve seal materials.

Class 2500 NRVs offer a choice of four different seal materials: fluorocarbon, nitrile, ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) and highly fluorinated fluorocarbon rubber, spanning working temperatures from -57 to +204C (-70 to +400F).

The Class 4500 valves are available with fluorocarbon or fluorinated fluorocarbon rubber seals, accommodating working temperatures from -26 to +204C (-15 to +204F).

All Hi-Check NRVs employ O-ring sealing to ensure leak-tight shut-off within the flow path, and feature a very low cracking pressure of less than 10 psi (0.69 bar).

They also have a low reseal pressure and are guaranteed to close bubble-tight before the upstream pressure reaches 50 psi / 3.45 bar.

The valve mechanism employs a high reliability self-centring seal and zero coil bounding check spring, both of which are field replaceable, and is designed for low noise operation.

Parker Hi-Check NRVs are supported by HCT (heat code traceable) certificates to show material composition and origin, and can optionally be supplied fabricated from NACE MR 01 75 / ISO 15156b compliant materials.

Special O-rings to guard against explosive decompression in high pressure applications are also available.

Standard lead-time is stock to 2-4 weeks, depending upon quantity.
