Sheldon Banks takes over the sales management role from Marc Petit, who is starting a new industrial distribution business in Northern France to handle Parker Instrumentation and complementary products.
With this appointment, the sales management role is also being widened from European to global responsibility for the division's product range.
Sheldon is tasked with continuing the rapid sales growth that the division has seen in recent years.
The division operates from its ISO9001-registered design and manufacturing centre in Barnstaple, UK, and through some 300 Parker sales centres and distributor locations worldwide.
The Barnstaple plant is a benchmark facility for the company's parent, the $7billion-sales Parker Hannifin corporation, and has been the subject of substantial investment in recent years.
In particular, the company has recently released a much-extended range of manifolds, and is currently enjoying strong sales growth especially in the oil and gas project arena.
This has been complemented by numerous initiatives in manufacturing and logistics, many in conjunction with the Parker global distribution partners.
"We work for many of the world's most influential processing and manufacturing corporations, and a key challenge is the continuing evolution of our service to satisfy the increasing expectations being placed on suppliers", says Sheldon Banks.
"We actively support customers who are looking to outsource non-core activities, by means of user-specific added value services such as parts kitting and assembly, point-of-use delivery and stocking, and training".
"We're delighted to have attracted Sheldon back - as he has a great deal of experience in this business sector", says Ian Huggins, Parker Instrumentation General Manager.
"He was part of the team that developed the strategy for the exceptional growth that Parker Instrumentation has enjoyed in recent years, and I'm confident he is the right person to maintain our sales momentum.".
