Parker Instrumentation has appointed Nicolas Villemain as Oil and Gas Project Manager for France and Italy, to serve clients working on offshore platform and process plant projects

Parker Instrumentation has appointed Nicolas Villemain as Oil and Gas Project Manager for France and Italy, to serve clients working on offshore platform and process plant projects In this newly-created position, he will work with operators and engineering houses to assist in the specification and logistics for instrumentation supply to large projects such as offshore platform construction and processing plant upgrades

Villemain joins Parker from specialist purchasing agency Sorcom.

He brings extensive experience of procurement to the new role, as well as in assembling and managing groups of subcontractors to provide turnkey solutions.

He also has a wide knowledge of process instrumentation, gained during his time in technical sales with the leak detection instrument manufacturer, Ateq.

"Today's major oil and gas projects involve increasingly complex technical issues.

This new position will allow us to work very closely with our clients' engineering teams, to find effective solutions to front end issues such as modifications to instrument designs, the provision of assemblies and systems, and corrosion protection", says Nicolas Villemain.

"A further key aspect of this new role is to work with clients to put efficient supply arrangements in place to aid the smooth roll-out of projects.

This will include providing local stock and supply resources wherever they are required - from the construction of platforms and packages, to the final installation location".

Villemain will be based in Nantes, France.

He will report to the Parker Instrumentation headquarters in Barnstaple, England, where the company has a major European instrumentation design and manufacturing facility.
