The range comes in two variants: a basic version, which offers a single shaft about which the carriage is free to rotate, and a guided version, which makes use of two guide rails to lock the carriage in one plane.
Both use an internal piston magnetically coupled, through a central bore, to an external carriage.
The basic version, available in three bore diameters (16, 20 and 32mm), is available in lengths up to 2000mm.
Operating on dry lubricated or un-lubricated air, it comes with adjustable pneumatic cushioning on the 20 and 32mm versions and non-adjustable rubber bumpers on the 16mm version.
It offers a maximum speed of 0.4m/sec and can operate down to -10C.
The cylinder can be mounted in a number of different ways and the hard-anodised aluminium carriage offers four tapped holes onto which loads can be secured.
The guided version comes with the same bore sizes and offers strokes up to 1,500mm depending on the bore size specified.
Cushioning is by means of rubber bumpers, or using an auto-compensating hydraulic shock absorber.
It can also be fitted with rail and magneto-inductive sensors to provide information about the stroke to an external controller/logger.
Parker anticipates the application range to be varied and widespread but equally demanding.
Primary applications will include door and machine guard opening, sliding carriers, materials handling, loading and feeding operation, transmissions over conveyors, work piece lifting or hoisting, spray gun sliding and web cutting machines.
Future developments include an expanded range of bore sizes (10, 25 and 40mm) as well as a raft of new options.
