Parker Filtration plays an important role in both the operation and the unique abilities of the new Gibbs Aquada - an amphibious vehicle that combines the thrill of a sports car with the exhilaration of high performance speedboats.

When converting from road to water, the vehicle's hydraulic system retracts, causing the four wheels to fold up into the car body in a graceful arc.

Then, at the press of the accelerator, nearly a tonne of thrust pushes the vehicle up onto the plane and across the water.

It is a well-known fact that the majority of hydraulic system failures are the result of oil contamination.

Parker's technology ensures clean hydraulic oil is supplied to this unique hydraulic system - a necessity in maintaining high performance levels.

The Parker CM20 Portable Particle Analyser monitors system contamination during production and again prior to despatch of the vehicle.

Once the cleanliness level of the hydraulic system is confirmed, a Parker Maxiflow quality return line filter is used to ensure effective filtration while the vehicle is in motion.

The development of the Aquada continues apace to meet production schedules and satisfy the huge interest already received from potential customers around the world.
